If it looks too good to be true, take another look. Usually there is some sort of catch to it. It is either too expensive to start, to competitive, to complicated, to specific to apply to you or any number of other catches or it is just an outright scam. Kind of, depressing huh?
Well here’s the good news Personal Development is the exception to the above rule. It requires nothing to get started, is as easy or as hard as you make it, is broad enough to apply to everyone, and best of all only requires that you give it hard work, dedication, and the desire to make an improvement. Because Personal Development is as individual as you are everyone yes even you can find something that will help you no matter what you decide to do. Personal Development for the rest of us will look at many of these areas in the upcoming articles but know that just because you aren’t where you want to be right now it doesn’t mean you can't get there. All it means is that it will take some effort on your part along with ample time. It’s not going to happen overnight.
Still reading good, because I happen to think Personal Development is an exciting subject. Why you ask well let me put it to you like this. I spent many hours, weeks, months; even years to achieve what society told me I needed. I went to college earned not one but two degrees, acquired a couple certifications besides. I was ask to join Mensa (if you don’t know what that is it’s ok…most don’t) graduated, was married, had two children and a third I took as my own, had a good paying job. All the things that we are told we should strive for. So you ask what the problem was. Well you see while I was achieving as far as society was concerned I was failing miserably as far as my own life was concerned. As I became more successful, I became less of a person and more of a slave. My job took priority, after all I could always rationalize it by saying I am doing it for my family. I was earning an income but loosing everything else. Eventually my kids grew up, my marriage broke up, my job ended, and I was looking in a mirror at a person who had nothing.
Then late one night as I was surfing the net I started reading about Personal Development and became very excited. Excited because I was reading about all the things that I truly wanted in my life. Excited because for the first time someone was talking about using the things that I already knew and applying them in a manner I never had even considered. That night a new spark was struck and this site that you chose to visit www.vernonlukovich.com Personal Development for the rest of us was envisioned. Now for the first time I could do the things that the people who knew me best had always saw I was capable of doing. The things that I had a desire to do but never a means to do. Things like helping others, my number one desire in the world (for more on that check out my about page) now for the first time life had a meaning beyond just existing to make money. Life was exciting. So if you are reading this now and who knows maybe you to are setting at a crossroads in your life without a clue what direction to take. Welcome aboard and I hope you will find the insights on these pages as informative and exciting as I have.
