Give Yourself A Raise
So you need more money. No problem you can just ask your boss for that long overdue raise and all of your problems will be solved. Wait what’s that you say the boss said there will be no raises this year, well guess you will have to wait until next year then.
This is the pattern that most people live by;
Decide there is a need for more
Build up the courage to ask for more
Request an increase in your pay
Get turned down on the pay increase
Decide they really didn’t need the raise and settle for tightening the belt a little tighter
Wait until next year and then maybe try again
Now if this sounds all too familiar then tell me this why don’t you give yourself a raise? I mean you know you are worth more. You know you need more. You know you work harder and longer than anyone else but still, you seem to be falling farther behind. Next year comes and goes and you repeat the whole process over again with the same results.
I have heard it said that the definition of frustration is doing the same thing you have always done expecting different results. But isn’t that what we all do. Isn’t that the way life works. Is it any wonder that as the days turn into weeks then months then years we become more dissatisfied with life? So why do we keep doing it. Because we are taught that, this is the only way so we had better get used to it.
NOW HEAR THIS there is another way! Sure time will continue to go on and sure, you will still be working at that same job (at least for now) but now is the time to begin to build your own future and give yourself a raise. A raise that no boss can say you don’t get or don’t deserve. Now is the time to start to invest into you. You have invested a lot of time into the company you work for so why not now invest a little time into you.
As I said there are any number of legitimate ways to make money on the internet and we will look at some of them in future articles but for now just remember this;
Life is a finite object that runs its course and then ends
There are no do over’s in life, you only get one chance
You can choice to spend most of your life being a slave to a job
OR
You can decide here and now that it is time to start investing in your own future and allow yourself the freedom that come from knowing that you not your boss is now in control.
I won’t tell you it will happen over night or that you will get rich in a flash but what I will say is that if you are even half as diligent with you own work as you are with working for your boss you will succeed.
